LVAD patients and caregivers never forget the people who helped them through the journey. From the first conversations about an LVAD to surgery, recovery, and life at home, VAD coordinators are there to educate, troubleshoot, encourage, and answer the questions that inevitably come up along the way.
They are often the steady hands and calm voices behind the scenes, helping patients and families navigate life with a mechanical heart pump. LVADStrong created our Care Package Program to give something back to the people who give so much to our community.
What’s Inside a Care Package?
Every care package is thoughtfully assembled with a mix of practical items, small comforts, and treats that VAD teams can enjoy throughout their busy days.
Packages may include:
- Snacks
- Granola bars, trail mix, nuts, popcorn, pretzels, chocolate, and other easy-to-share treats.
- Beverages
- Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, flavored water, and other drinks to keep the team fueled.
- Comfort & Self-Care
- Hand lotion, lip balm, cozy items, stress-relief products, and other small ways to take a moment for themselves.
- Desk & Work Items
- Notebooks, pens, sticky notes, badge reels, phone stands, and other useful everyday essentials.
- Personal Messages
- Handwritten notes and messages of appreciation from LVAD patients, caregivers, and members of the LVADStrong community.
What’s included can vary from package to package. We listen to feedback from VAD teams so we can continue improving what goes into each delivery and make every package more useful and meaningful.
