Meet LVADStrong in Hyde Park
LVADStrong joins Open Streets Hyde Park to raise awareness and connect with the community.
Hyde Park’s diverse, working-class population, with a significant Black and Caribbean demographic and pockets of socioeconomic vulnerability, faces heightened heart failure risk—especially from hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. Our mission to raise awareness, provide support, and engage with this community is especially timely.
On Sunday, August 10, River Street in Hyde Park will transform into a lively community space. From Hyde Park Avenue to Fairmount Avenue and Davison Street, the event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy live music, delicious food trucks, kid-friendly activities, and vibrant local art. Open Streets Boston invites everyone to explore, connect with neighbors, and discover local businesses and organizations. The event is free and open to all, and more information can be found on its website.
LVADStrong will have a booth at Open Streets Hyde Park, continuing our commitment to raise awareness about heart failure and living with an LVAD. Events like this give us the chance to meet people who may not know about LVADs, share important resources, and build connections within the community. Hyde Park’s diversity makes it an important place for outreach, as heart failure affects communities differently, and access to information can be limited.
Volunteers are the backbone of LVADStrong’s outreach efforts. By helping at the event, you can be part of raising awareness, distributing educational materials, and supporting patients and caregivers. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to engage and make a difference. Volunteering also offers a chance to meet others who share a passion for community health and support.
Interested in volunteering or learning more about LVADStrong’s work? Reach out to us at info@lvadstrong.org. Your support helps us show up at more events, reach more people, and strengthen the network for those affected by heart failure and LVADs.
Come visit us at Open Streets Hyde Park on August 10. Bring your family and friends to enjoy the day’s activities and stop by our booth to learn how you can support the LVAD community. Together, we can build awareness and ensure no one faces this journey alone.
